ASATA Compliance – POPI

From 1 July 2021, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) comes into full effect. The POPI Act is designed to protect how your data is collected, used, stored and processed. We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that your data is protected at all times and ensuring that your personal information is collected and used properly, lawfully, and transparently.

Personal data is collected and processed to:

  • Provide our services to our members
  • Communicate with our members
  • Confirm, verify and update members details
  • Conduct market research or customers satisfaction surveys
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

When we collect personal details from you, we will only use it for the purpose it was intended for, and will only do so with your explicit consent. Your information will not be used for any other purpose, unless we obtain consent from you to use your personal details for another reason.

Your information will therefore never be shared with any person or organisation which purpose is not included in the points mentioned above.
