That’s a wrap with a ‘locktail’ for ASATA’s Travel Summit

More than ever, it is critical for travel businesses to look into the future and prepare for Travel Reimangined.

This was the sentiment expressed by the travel industry leaders who joined ASATA’s virtual Travel Summit from 12-14 August.

In setting the scene, CEO of ASATA, Otto de Vries opened the first day of the summit, speaking on the industry’s necessary journey from survival to reinvention, set against the scenario of the undoing of every aspect of travel.

Keynote Speaker, Gidon Novick Lucid Ventures, detailed an accurate picture of how do to leverage opportunities in a crisis.

Day 2 of the summit opened with Natalia Rosa, Director of Big Ambitions, providing some great insights on what to your future customers will look like and what to expect from them

Elizabeth de Stadler and Anne Jarvis Smith closed off the day with some much-needed humour on their combined discussion on ‘Rising above the storm: Decision-making in uncertain times’.

A Panel Discussion with international industry experts drove the conversations and debate within the Travel Reimagined Thinktank. The panel discussion touched on reimagining the travel value chain, your value propositions and the travel agent of the future – a new business model.

Closing off the official summit programme, was Bruce Whitfield of Primedia, with his insightful discussion on ‘Creativity and courage: Novel problems require novel solutions’.

While the summit had a complete virtual approach, the networking and socialising amongst industry colleagues did not fall away. There has never been a better time to learn a new skill and in the afternoon of day three ASATA hosted a Locktail Virtual Mixology class. Using zoom as the platform, attendees blended up some tips, tricks and delicious cocktails.
